In Loving Memory of Luna
In June of 2014, there was the beginning of a dream for a young lady named Hailey and her horse, Destiny.......who was bred to our stallion, Nar Azar. The resulting foal would be Hailey's horse for the span of her 4-H career and a dream come true. On May 3, 2015 Destiny went into labor and the foal was a red bag birth. Thanks to amazing efforts by Billie and Steve, the little filly was born alive. It was a full moon that night and she was dubbed Luna by her human family. It soon became apparent that something was wrong with Luna She was showing all the signs of dummy foal syndrome. Destiny and Luna were eventually moved to the NC State Vet Hospital where a wonderful team of vets tried to do all they could for this dream filly but to no avail. Luna was put to sleep on May 5th and brought back home to be buried. Even though Luna was only here for a very short time, she gave so much. She showed us courage and she fought for every moment of her life. We will never forget her and we are thankful for the short amount of time we did have. So, if you ever come to vist us at PAA and you happen to see a butterfly flitting around you, it is just Luna saying welcome.
